One or more hosts and VMs on the hosts appear to move between vCenter servers when viewed in vCommander®, when no change has taken place to their actual placement in vCenter.

This can occur when more than one ESX host uses the same Universal Unique Identifier (UUID). To confirm whether or not this is impacting you, run the following query against your database, providing the actual host name or IP address of the ESX host with correct values for your environment:

SELECT address, uuid, remoteid FROM inv_runtimeservers WHERE address = 'host';?

The results will provide the UUID:

Once you confirm that you have duplicate UUIDs, the best option currently is to contact the vendor to see if they provide a utility to update the UUID of the host in the BIOS.
