Guest OS Scans for one or more Windows VMs fail, when other similarly configured VMs are successful. You receive an error similar to:
VM_NAME: Guest OS scan failed due to deleted object would be re-saved by cascade (remove deleted object from associations): [com.embotics.vlm.service.objectmodel.entity.model.OperatingSystemEntity#7581068].
This occurs when the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) repository on a Windows operating system becomes corrupted, which can occur for a variety of reasons not associated with vCommander®.
Important: You should consider the following corrective actions as destructive, and as such take a snapshot of the VM before proceeding. Deleting and rebuilding a corrupt WMI repository can cause damage to the system or installed applications.
Download rebuild-wmi.zip and extract the batch file to the following directory:
- Launch the command prompt as an Administrator and execute rebuild-wmi.bat.
- Reboot the VM guest OS and attempt another scan in vCommander.
